# Connect an AI assistant

> Add the Parlay MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client.

Server URL:

```
https://app.goparlay.io/api/mcp
```

**Claude Code**

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http parlay https://app.goparlay.io/api/mcp
```

**Claude Desktop**

Add to `claude_desktop_config.json`, then restart Claude:

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "parlay": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://app.goparlay.io/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

On claude.ai, you can instead go to **Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector** and paste the URL.

**ChatGPT**

Go to **Settings → Connectors → Add**, paste the URL, and sign in when prompted.

**Cursor**

Add to `.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "parlay": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://app.goparlay.io/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

**Other clients**

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with OAuth works. Point it at the server URL. The client discovers the sign-in flow on its own.

## Sign in

**1. Add the server**

One line, or one block of config. There is no key to paste.

**2. Your tool opens Parlay**

If you are already signed in to Parlay, you go straight to the approval screen.

**3. Choose what it can read**

Owners pick the whole organization or just themselves. Everyone else gets their own data. Tick transcript access if you want it.

**4. Click Allow**

Ask your first question. Access lasts 90 days, then your tool asks you to sign in again.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Fix |
| - | - |
| The tool says it cannot connect | Check the URL is exactly `https://app.goparlay.io/api/mcp`, then remove and re-add the server. |
| Transcript questions fail | You did not grant transcript access. Disconnect and connect again, and tick transcripts. |
| You only see your own calls | You connected with personal access, or you are not an owner. An owner can reconnect with organization access. |
| It worked, then stopped | Access expired after 90 days or was revoked. Reconnect. |
